Despisals of 2025
Never again to despise the trash filled allies lined with overflowing dumpsters
As if our own minds aren't overfilled and decomposing
As if one of us is really better than the other
Never again to despise the children who fill their empty stomachs with over processed food stolen from clearance isle
Nor shall we despise the mother who is overworked and underpaid- 83 cents compared to the dollar that her children's father makes although he dodges every financial responsibility
Never again to despise the teens filling their empty stomachs with whiskey and their already smoke filled lungs from the cities with manufactured chemicals
As if those children don't just need love
Lost in a world filled with anger and hatred if anyone thinks, looks, or acts differently
Rain
The sweet smell of the spring rain was interrupted
With the iron smell of our blood mixing – the same way the soil and rain mixed
We were sick
We were hungry
We were angry
Hatred poured out of our hearts causing the violence
We had become no better than the people oppressing us
The sweet smell of the spring rain was interrupted
With the rain of bullets and shrapnel
We were still sick
We were still hungry
We were still angry
The way that we looked at eachother was weary
We knew there was no point in being mad at one another
We knew it wasn't our fault
